It’s Official!

Three Great Retail Stores To Join Coalinga

Coalinga received official news today that Ross Dress For Less has approved a location near Tractor Supply. More details will be released as they become available. Other store joining Ross will be Grocery Outlet and Five and Below. They are expected to open in 2025 after remodeling existing property.

The former KMart property at 25 West Polk Street at the intersection of Polk and Elm Street in Coalinga has been vacant since the closure of Kmart in March, 2017. In the past seven years, there have been more than a couple of plans but so far, little has panned out. This time, though, it’s official. The three retailers are committed to joining the community of Coalinga.

Tractor Supply Company was the first retailer to jump on board, opening in March, 2024. Many residents have been ecstatic to have more options for places near home to purchase many things they need without having to travel to Hanford or Fresno.

Coalinga City Manager Marissa Trejo, has been beleaguered with questions from Coalinga residents wanting to know when or if other stores will be coming to Coalinga. She was happy to send out a positive message on Monday.

“We would like to thank the developer who was willing to recognize the needs in Coalinga and make a huge investment into our community!” Trejo applauded the developer who worked to bring this growth to Coalinga.

More information will be released as it becomes available.
